Characteristic
Alloy 22 is a versatile alloy composed of nickel, chromium, and molybdenum, with superior corrosion resistance compared to other alloys such as Alloy C276, C4, and 625 alloys. Alloy 22 offers excellent resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking, with outstanding performance in aqueous media, including wet chlorine, nitric acid, or oxidizing acid mixed with chloride ions. Additionally, Alloy 22 has perfect resistance to both reduction and oxidation in processing environments, making it suitable for complex environments or factories with multiple manufacturing targets. Alloy 22 has outstanding resistance to various chemical environments, including strong oxidizing substances such as iron chloride, copper chloride, chlorine, heat-polluted liquids (both organic and inorganic), formic acid, acetic acid, acetyl oxide, seawater, and salt solutions. Alloy 22 alloy can resist the grain boundary precipitate formation when welded in heat-affected zones, which makes it ideal for many types of chemical processing.

Corrosion Resistance
Alloy 22 alloy is suitable for many types of chemical processing industries involving both oxidizing and reducing mediums. The high content of molybdenum and chromium makes it resistant to chloride corrosion, and tungsten further enhances this corrosion resistance. Alloy 22 is one of the few materials that can resist corrosion from moist chlorine, hypochlorite, and chlorine dioxide. This alloy also demonstrates prominent resistance to high concentrations of chlorate (such as iron chloride and copper chloride).
Application Field
Alloy 22 is widely used in the chemical and petrochemical industries, such as chloride organic elements and catalyst systems. This material is especially suitable for high-temperature environments, impure inorganic acids, and organic acids (such as formic acid and acetic acid), as well as seawater corrosion environments.
